For the Love of the North's Faves

April 13, 2021 3 min read

Well, it’s finally here, Lockdown III is over and our For the Love of the North store can open its doors at last (hopefully for good now). Not everyone is feeling the same about the lifting of Lockdown and many of us are struggling to reconnect with life beyond our front door. If you’re not quite ready to face the shops, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with our list of For the Love of the North Faves- all of our favourite items online. Avoid the chaos of the shops for the next few weeks with our list of online treats, perfect for a bit of retail therapy until you feel ready to tackle the High street.

Northern and Proud Children's T shirt

(Northern and Proud Children’s T-Shirt - £12)

We’re kicking things off with our absolute favourite clothing design of the moment, our children’s Northern and Proud t-shirt. You may remember a few months ago that we launched the Northern and Proud adult t-shirt, it did so well on the shelves that we decided to launch a range for children. The t-shirt comes in yellow, green, blue, pink and orange in a range of sizes from 3-11 years. The tees are printed with Vegan ink that is 100% phthalate-free. These tops are GOTs certified which means that there are no harmful chemicals used throughout the entire production process.

Mam bone china mug

I always think we Northerners are given minimal choices for gifts to send to our Mam, whether that’s on Mother’s Day or Birthdays or even just to say thanks. There are endless stocklists of gifts with the title Mum etched on them while searching for ‘Mam’ proves almost impossible. That’s why, in March, we decided to launch our very own collection of Mam and Mammy products. This mug is hands down one of our favourite products EVER! The star design makes this the perfect mug for absolutely any occasion and was designed right here in Whitley Bay. The mug was fired and painted in Stoke on Trent, so really this is a proper Northern gift!

Summer is Coming Spanish City A4 Print

(Summer Is Coming A4/A3 £10-£18)

Our next favourite truly captures the general feeling of the week. On Monday the pub gardens were opened, and non-essential shops were able to welcome back their customers with open arms. The series of prints was inspired by the iconic ‘Love will get us through’ design from Lockdown I. We wanted to capture a shift in the general feeling and represent how our feelings of fear and worry are gradually beginning to dissolve. Just like the original design, we wanted to donate 25% of every sale to charity. Since we’ve already raised £10,000 for our NHS Charity, we’ve decided to change to our local children’s charity, Children North East.

Tynemouth Tote Bag

Mouth of the Tyne tote bag £12

Even if you’re not hitting the shops up just yet, you will still need a fresh tote for carrying all your new bits and bobs! We are obsessed with the range of totes we have in store and we’re pretty sure they’re just on a cycle of favourites, this week’s favourite has to be this gorgeous coastal design. The blue colours are the perfect match for all of your spring wardrobe. Like all of our fabric products, the tote is made with the environment in mind using organic heavyweight canvas.

Lindisfarne Greetings Card

(Lindisfarne Castle card £2.75)

Finally, we’re able to travel and stay overnight somewhere beyond our local area. If you’re awaiting a mini trip away and need something to keep you going this card is the perfect reminder of what’s to come. It has even tempted me to book my own mini staycation to Lindisfarne later on in the year. Send it to a friend or keep it yourself to make you smile, this card is the epitome of our 2021 summer of freedom!
