    Wild Winter Adventure

by Katie Lee January 30, 2022 3 min read

When I bought the van I always thought I’d have trips all year round.  I wasn’t sure what the reality of this would be, frozen water pipes, frozen toes and basically just frozen everything, oh and maybe getting snowed in and trapped! There was only one way to find out...

When everything you really need is right here on your doorstep...

by Katie Lee November 21, 2021 2 min read

I did have plans to go away this weekend but Covid put a stop to that.  The girls Dad has it and so can’t look after the girls while I’m gone.  I am disappointed and could have really done with some downtime but it just reminds me just how lucky we are to live on this beautiful coastline.  I go away on my own for a multitude of reasons, mainly I think I need time on my own to recharge.

    Little Life Adventures

by Katie Lee October 24, 2021 3 min read

Over the last year I’ve rediscovered myself, I know this sounds deep and bit hippy, but it’s true.  I’ve remembered how important it is for me to have little life adventures.  Nothing grand like going on safari or flying over the Gran Canyon, but just walking out of my front door and going somewhere new, even if it is 30 minutes up the road.

A Trip To The Quiet Site

by Katie Lee September 19, 2021 2 min read

Apart from not putting the handbrake on tight enough and the caravan rolling with Lily inside there wasn’t too much drama. Disaster averted and so we started our next summer 2021 holiday at The Quiet Site on Ullswater.

An adventure in the Lake District

by Katie Lee July 18, 2021 4 min read

I know what your thinking, I create drama just for these blogs!

I’m hoping this will be the last one with any drama for a while.  I might start from the end and work backwards, but the major difference this time was that I had my girls with me and not the dog.  I’ll let you work out which set is the most peaceful!

My first adventure of 2021 (with Baxter, of course!).

by Katie Lee May 23, 2021 3 min read

The countdown’s been on since my last trip away in November 2020 and I’ve finally been allowed to take the hand brake off my caravan.  Don’t know about you but if I haven’t done something for a while I can get a bit anxious about all the possible bad things that could happen. So this time I really worked on not catastrophizing and I actually had a good nights sleep before my trip away. Then it’s just going through my little mental checklist of all the things that need to be done before it’s ok to pull the caravan out of the safety of storage.

    The Girl Can Tow

by Katie Lee April 18, 2021 2 min read

In November 2019 I bought a towing caravan, not a very big one but it was mine.  This may not seem that significant but when I look back now, a year and half later, I think it was a pretty pivotal moment in my new life as a single Mum with twin girls (now 11yrs old).
