Harry and Dot is the brainchild of North East artist Michele Tweddle and named after the two people who supported her the most...her parents. Born in Middlesbrough Michele attended Cleveland College of Art & Design studying Graphic Art, Photography and Illustration. Upon graduating and after a short spell teaching Graphic Design family life and raising her children became her focus.
While the creative desire was always there it wasn’t until many years later, to combat grief, that Michele took up her paintbrushes again. Inspired by the coast and countryside of her surroundings she initially dipped her toe in the water producing vibrant landscapes with splashes of colour, texture and a squiggle or two until eventually the illustrative aspect of her work began to develop. Bright watercolours with amazing and quirky attention to detail, Michele’s work is, in essence, a journal of the walks she takes with her beloved Border Collie Lola who is the real star of the show.
Proud of her Northern roots and the beauty to be found there, Michele hopes her paintings inspire you to take a walk outside, look around you, feel the sun on your face, listen to the wind in the trees and let your fears and worries slip sway.
