Brogan Edgar aka 'Brogan Sews' is a student based in Gateshead. Brogan ‘paints’ with thread to create wall-hangings, greetings cards, framed prints and more - all based on your favourite North East landmarks. Brogan works in embroidery hoops, which range from around 4” to 12”, to create her colourful embroidery work.
Brogan is inspired by the different landmarks which put the North East on the map, such as Spanish City, St. Mary’s Lighthouse and the Tyne Bridge. Also by sunsets, the sea and how the sunsets reflect on the waters. She particularly loves a pretty, colourful sunset which can inspire a new embroidery hoop and is often at the coast or the Quayside taking photos of the sky for inspiration!
Brogan's Top North East Tourist Tip: Get yourself down to the Fish Quay in North Shields - grab some chips from the lush fish & chip shops and go around the corner to the Middens. No better place to sit, chill out and watch the sea!
