Jonathan Gray
Studied Fine Art at the University of Sunderland with a First Class Degree. Selected by the Haworth Prize and awarded the Sunderland Echo Prize. What drives me to create art is my passion for sketching lines when putting pen to paper. The starting point for all of my work is drawing outlines in fine liner to capture movement, before adding hints of watercolour paint.
Although using photography as source material I work quickly to build details within the architecture and people. Using this technique I strive to create vibrancy in all of my artwork. My main artistic inspirations are Norman Cornish and Frank Stella.
